What is the recommended torque for the lug nuts on my Weld Racing wheels?

7/16 Wheel stud = 75-85 ft-lbs; 1/2 Wheel stud = 85-95 ft-lbs; 5/8 Wheel stud = 130-140 ft-lbs; 12mm = 90 ft-lbs; 14mm = 110 ft-lbs Weld Racing does not recommend the use of lubricant when installing lug nuts.

Tire Balancing Tips

The most accurate way to balance a wheel and tire is to balance the package on the balancer in the same manner that it centers on the vehicle. A hub centric wheel is a wheel that has the same hub bore size as the vehicle and centers itself using the center hole in the wheel. A lug centric wheel centers on the vehicle using the lug nuts allowing the wheel to fit many vehicles instead of a select few. All Weld Racing wheels are lug centric. This means that they require a lug-centric adapter during dynamic (spin) balancing. A lug centric adapter plate should be used in place of the centering cone. The fingers on the adapter plate must be properly positioned so they line up with the lug holes in the wheel. The approved lug nuts for the Weld Racing wheel model should be used to fasten the wheel to the lug centric adapter place. This is necessary to appropriately center the wheel on the wheel balancer shaft. If this is not done, the results will not be as accurate or repeatable. After the first 25 to 50 miles, re-torque all lug nuts.

Can a brake rotor be installed on a one-piece pro drag race spindle mount wheel?

On the 15x3.5 "anglia" and "strange" application wheels, yes. Contrary to previous multi-piece spindle mount models, this is not evident from the front of the current one-piece wheel models. Studs, washers, and jet nuts are provided in each wheel box to attach the rotor to the wheel. The 17x2.25 spindle mount wheel can not accommodate brakes.

Which Weld Racing wheel models will accept a 5/8" drive stud?

The AlumaStar 2.0, AlumaStar PRO, Magnum 2.0, Magnum PRO, V-Series, WeldStar RT, Magnum III RT, Vektor RT, Vitesse RT, Classic RT, Woodward RT, and the 15" S71 have lug holes drilled to accept a 5/8" drive stud. The lug hole opening is drilled to .703". The Draglite, ProStar, and Rodlite have a lug hole opening of .687" which will not allow the use of a 5/8" stud without altering the size of the lug holes. This will affect the warranty. None of the 17" or 18" RT-S series products will accept a 5/8" drive stud.

Warranty Information

Weld Racing LLC is a company built on Customer Satisfaction and Service, and all products are thoroughly inspected before they are ever packaged and shipped. Please consult our Tech F.A.Q. for information regarding care, cleaning, and installation of Weld Racing product. Our Warranty Policy requires that warranty claims be submitted through the authorized dealer where the product was purchased. Subject to the terms and conditions listed below, Weld Racing, LLC (“WELD”) warrants that its wheels (“Products”) shall be free of defects in material and workmanship beginning on the date of retail sale. Discoloration, oxidation, and/or corrosion of the finish due to neglect, chemical reaction, or weather are not covered by this limited warranty. The warranty period shall begin on the date of the retail sale of the Product, and shall continue for a period of thirty (30) days for the Weld Racing ® and American Racing ® Pro Series and all other products designated for drag racing or oval track racing, and for three (3) years for the Draglite, Rodlite ® Prostar, Weld RT Series, and Weld RT-S Series products designated for street use. WELD warrants that products designated for street use are “true” within .030” radial and lateral run-out. Warranty claims for lack of concentricity or out-of-round is limited to the first ninety days of ownership. This warranty is furnished solely to the original retail consumer of the products (“Owner”), and may not be transferred or assigned. Structural Warranty: This warranty will not be effective unless the Products have been paid for in full. This warranty will not be effective unless and until the Products are shown to have been used in accordance with current published WELD specifications and instructions, and with WELD accessories, fasteners, and replacement parts. This warranty shall not cover, and WELD shall have no responsibility for, damage or injury of any kind because of (a) abuse, misuse or any use of the Products for purposes other than for which it was designed improper, or (b) any modification to the Products or use of the Product with any accessories, fasteners, and replacement parts not provided by Weld. This warranty shall not cover, and WELD shall have no responsibility for, appearance defects following installation or mounting of the Products with tires. It is specifically understood and agreed by Owner that no warranty whatsoever is made by WELD regarding components manufactured or distributed by others and used in conjunction with the Products. WELD shall not have any obligations under this warranty unless the Owner notifies WELD in writing of any alleged defects in the Products within the earlier of thirty (30) days following Owner’s discovery of the defects, or the expiration of the warranty period and within ten (10) days following such notice delivers the Products with the alleged defect to WELD. Any such notice and products must be delivered to Weld Racing, LLC, 6600 Stadium Drive, Kansas City, MO. 64129, attn. Warranty Dept. WELD shall be allowed a reasonable period of time to investigate any warranty claim of the Owner, have authorization to remove samples from the Products, and to perform any testing to the Products WELD deems necessary to determine the cause of the alleged defect. Weld Racing professional racing wheels are not tested or labeled to meet FMVSS 109 or ECE36 safety standards. Therefore it is dangerous and illegal to sell these wheels for use on public streets or highways. To the extent permitted by law, any person selling or using Weld Racing professional racing wheels for street use hereby agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and reimburse Weld Racing LLC for all loss, damage, or liability incurred as a result of such use, including but not limited to attorney fees. THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ALL SUCH OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE HEREBY EXCLUDED AND DISCLAIMED BY WELD TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR DISCLAIMED ARE LIMITED TO THIRTY (30) DAYS OR TO THE SHORTEST PERIOD PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY OF WELD UNDER THIS WARRANTY, AND OWNER’S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR BREACH OF THIS WARRANTY, SHALL BE THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT, AT WELD’S SOLE DISCRETION, OF PRODUCTS SHOWN TO BE DEFECTIVE. IN NO EVENT SHALL WELD BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER BASED UPON BREACH OF WARRANTY, BREACH OF CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WELD IS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSSES OR DAMAGES AND WITHOUT REGARD TO ANY DETERMINATION THAT ANY REMEDY SPECIFIED IN THIS WARRANTY FAILS ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE. This warranty shall be interpreted under the laws of the State of Missouri, without reference to principles of conflict of laws. For international customers, the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods shall not apply. All court proceedings between Weld and the Owner concerning the Products, whether under the foregoing warranty or otherwise, shall be litigated only in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri, or the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Should any of these terms and conditions be declared void or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such declaration shall have no effect upon the remaining terms hereof. These terms and conditions represent the entire agreement between Weld and Owner concerning the Products, and any and all other prior agreements, representations, statements, negotiations and undertakings with respect to Products, including any conflicting or additional terms included in any purchase order or other document submitted by Owner to Weld, are rejected, terminated and superseded hereby. 1. In order to provide efficient customer service, Weld Racing LLC requires prior approval before a customer returns merchandise for warranty or other reasons. Any Product returned to WELD without a return authorization number will be refused and returned to the Owner at the owner’s expense. Product Return Procedure: 2. To obtain a Return Authorization (RA), the customer must contact Weld Racing LLC at 1-800-788-9353. 3. All merchandise returned to Weld Racing LLC shall be sent freight prepaid and insured, and delivered to 6600 Stadium Drive, Kansas City Missouri, 64129. 4. Weld Racing is not liable for any taxes or duties associated with international shipments. 5. Items returned for credit must be in new and unused condition. 6. The customer must also include, inside the package, his or her name, address, phone number, fax, and/or other contact information, along with the explanation of the concern and/or work to be done. This contact information is important because it allows Weld Racing LLC to communicate with the customer effectively. Important: 7. All warranty returns that are reviewed by Weld Racing’s Warranty Return Department and found not to be subject to warranty coverage will be returned to the sender, without repair or replacement and at the sender’s expense. 8. The issue of a Return Authorization (RA) is not an authorization for credit. Do Not deduct the estimated credit from your payment. If warranty credit is approved you will receive a written credit statement from Weld Racing LLC. 9. Weld Racing and all American Racing Pro Series products are make-to-order and therefore Non-returnable and are not eligible for dealer inventory stock adjustments.
